The Sheldon Charter Oak Neighborhood is in the process of transforming from an industrial district of the city of Hartford to a mixed use residential and commercial neighborhood within walking distance to the downtown business district.  These are a few of the projects that are underway in our neighborhood.

Dillon Stadium

In the summer of 2019, Hartford Athletic started calling Dillon Stadium home.

Capewell horsenail factory

Shuttered decades ago, the Capewell Horsenail Factory reemerged as 72 apartments in the heart of the neighborhood.   CIL was the developer with funding support from the Capital Region Development Authority

Colt Gateway

Colt Gateway is transforming the old Colt Factory into apartments and office space.  Commercial tenants include Foley Carrier Services, JCJ Architecture, and US Senator Chris Murphy's State Office. The North Armory is under construction.

Coltsville National HIstoric Park

In 2015, the US Congress authorized the establishment of the Coltsville National Park.  The park includes the Colt Factory which will house a museum about Samuel Colt, his wife Elizabeth and the business they ran in Hartford and the lasting impact they had on the area.  It also includes the Church of the Good Shepard, built by Elizabeth as a memorial to her husband, the parish house that was a built as a memorial to her son, and Colt Park once the backyard of the Colt's home Armsmear.  


UCONN Hartford Campus

The University of Connecticut Hartford Campus opened in the fall of 2017.
